Musicians 2011

We are happy to have three very different musicians on our festival. They will support some of the classes and especially the jam sessions.

Dino Spiri

Dino Spiri (1982 Singen, Germany) studied drums in the Netherlands. There he started to create music for dance performances. Currently attending the Alexander Technique teacher training programme in Berlin. He is particularly interested in the richness that simplicity and clarity bring to his work.

Marc Rossier

Marc Rossier is musician for contemporary dance productions. His soundscapes enrich the pieces of Anna Röthlisberger Co. (Switzerland), Cie Morespace (Switzerland/India) or Sapphire Creations (India). As live musician he has been touring with them all over Europe and India.

He also accompanied movement workshops led by Adam Benjamin, Michel Casanovas, Chris Lechner, Ambrose Laudani, Sudarshan Chakravorty and Anna Röthlisberger in Switzerland, Spain, UK, India, Italy, France and Portugal.

Various theatre plays and stage performances have benefited from Marc Rossier’s musical contribution. For the documentary dance film "The Long Bridge" by Patrick Collaud and Marianne Eggenberger he created a soundtrack in his unorthodox way of improvising.

His main instrument is the guitar (electric, acoustic, dobro, coral sitar, mandoline). To accompany movement, Marc Rossier often uses a loop system that allows him to create orchestral density.

Little Venus is his most popular band. Since 1995 he’s leading the acoustic trio with acoustic guitar, female lead vocals and cello, as songwriter, arranger, musician and producer. Several CDs have been published mainly in Switzerland and Germany. He’s also been part of bands like k’daar, Yvonne Moore Band, Markus Maria Enggist, Lizzard Kings and many more. Recently Marc Rossier has started a new project with the Swedish singer Lova. They played a first tour together in spring 2011.

After his studies at the Munich Guitar Institute, which he graduated in 1990 with diploma, he had workshops and intensive training inter alia with Wayne Krantz (USA), David Fiuczynski (USA), Abi von Reininghaus (D), Markus Graf (CH), Frank Gambale (AUS), Marius Bröchin (CH), Paul Gilbert (USA) and BB King (USA). That led to longer stays in UK and USA.

Since 1994 Marc Rossier teaches independently in Berne, Switzerland under the label "modern guitar". He’s also teacher for “Awarness Through Movement” Feldenkrais methode.
